The Westport Campus Annual Swimming Carnival was a blast this year. The rain did not dampen the spirits of our students who all had a fantastic time frolicking and swimming in the pool throughout the day. Participation was excellent with almost every student attending getting in the pool at some point during the day.
There were plenty of novelty events to keep everyone wet and having fun including the Senior Gold Coin Scramble which resulted in some of our seniors exiting the pool a little richer than when they entered. Students also enjoyed the Pool Noodle race where students were able to take on competitors from other age groups. The Monster Relay also saw great participation in the middle of the day.
Three Year 12 teams took on the staff in the Year 12 vs Staff 4x50m relay. The staff were triumphant this year. Also, Morgan Jean took on Mr Ross in a 50m freestyle drag race. Morgan has the bragging rights this year!
On a serious note, we had lots of students swimming for gold, with some very competitive races throughout the day. We had quite a few school records broken. Special mention goes to Iesha Apthorpe who broke 5 records and Ethan Rowe who broke 2.
