We are committed to engaging our Aboriginal students in learning and working with community, industry, business and educators.
We work with two programs - the Clontarf Academy for our Aboriginal boys and Sista Connections for our Aboriginal girls.
The Clontarf Foundation
Our campuses work in partnership with The Clontarf Foundation. Clontarf helps young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men to attend school, finish Year 12 and enter employment. Full time mentors support the young men through the program. Mentors help to build positive relationships and increase self-esteem and develop life skills.
Our approach has proven to be very successful, not only in attracting young men to school and keeping them there, but also in having them embrace more disciplined, purposeful and healthy lifestyles.
To learn more, visit the Clontarf Foundation website or contact your campus administration office.
Sista Connections
Sista Connections is focused on empowering Aboriginal women to be leaders and role models of the future. The program provides academic support, empowerment through entrepreneurism and employment, well-being, and community connections.
The program builds the capacity, employability, mental health, and well-being of our girls, and pathways to senior success. Sista Connections works in partnership with the community.
We pride ourselves on fostering a strong sense of belonging within the school community.

Shop Sista
Shop Sista is proudly operated by Sista Connections students at Hastings Secondary College. Products sold through Shop Sista are developed through our Sista Connections Aboriginal Girls Program.
Sista Connection students produce and develop products and services, catering with bush foods to textiles, art, and homewares. We partner with local businesses to provide customers with a cultural experience when shopping for a range of authentic indigenous products. The income generated supports our Aboriginal Girls Program at Hastings Secondary College.
Shop Sista catering
Sista Connections students also provide catering with dishes inspired by bush tucker. A minimum of 10 people is required for catering. At least eight days notice is required as our students cook, plate and deliver dishes. All funds from Shop Sista Catering goes back into the Sista Connections Program for Aboriginal girls.
