At Hastings Secondary College, wearing the College uniform is compulsory, and all students are expected to adhere to our uniform policy. The College code of conduct, endorsed by the P&C Association, mandates that all students wear the college uniform. The Department of Education also requires all government school students to adhere to a uniform policy.

Uniform shop holiday hours
The Uniform Shop will be open during the Christmas school holidays to assist families in preparing for the new school year. It will be located at the Port Macquarie Campus MPC and will be available for families from both Port Macquarie and Westport campuses on the following dates and times:
- Wednesday, 29 January: 12:00pm to 4:00pm
- Thursday, 30 January: 9:00am to 2:00pm
- Friday, 31 January: 9:00am to 2:00pm

About our uniform
We expect all parents to support their children in being responsible members of our community by upholding the accepted standard of dress at Hastings Secondary College.
Our uniform policy supports:
- The clear identification of students and non-students on school grounds.
- Fostering a sense of personal pride in appearance among students.
From 2023, a single 'College' uniform for both Westport Campus and Port Macquarie Campus was introduced, which can be worn on all school days. Year 7 students are encouraged to purchase the new uniform, while older students may transition to it as replacements become necessary.
Uniform policy
All uniform items must feature the College/Campus logo or the College 'H-birds' embroidery. Items without these are NOT part of the official school uniform.
If a student is not wearing the uniform, a short note explaining the reason must be provided.
- The following are NOT part of the school uniform:
- Leggings, hoodies, tights, jeans, or brief shorts.
- Jewellery or make-up.
- Enclosed, solid plain black leather lace-up shoes must be worn at all times while at school, except on sports days and during PDHPE practical lessons, when sport joggers are required.
- Students are encouraged to wear the College navy peaked capor bucket hat with the embroidered 'H' logo outdoors. However, caps must be removed when entering classrooms.
- All uniform items, except socks, must display the college/ campus logo. Items purchased from other suppliers without the logo are NOT considered part of the school uniform.
