Medicine, Nutrition & Dietetics, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Pharmacy, Medical Radiation Science, Midwifery, Nursing, and Speech Pathology were among the exciting career pathways that sparked curiosity and enthusiasm among our Year 11 students during the Health Careers Forum at the Manning Education Centre of the University of Newcastle.
The scenario-based workshops, led by esteemed academics, experienced clinicians, and current students in health disciplines, provided students with valuable insights into various health career pathways. A standout moment of the excursion was when Evie and Patience had the unique opportunity to step into the role of a midwife, delivering a baby in a simulated environment. This hands-on experience allowed them to gain a deeper understanding of the practical aspects of working in the health sector.
Our students thoroughly enjoyed the interactive workshops and demonstrations, gaining valuable knowledge about the diverse career opportunities available within the health industry.
