Today, our Port Macquarie Campus came together in respectful remembrance for the 2025 ANZAC Ceremony. The service was led with grace and sincerity by our campus Captains, Tom Gallagher and Stephanie Lawrence, and Vice Captains, Drew De Silva and Jamie Knott, who guided us through a meaningful tribute to those who have served our nation.
The ceremony began with an Acknowledgement of Country delivered by Bailey Wilson, reminding us of the importance of place, history, and respect. This year marks two significant anniversaries in Australia’s military history, 110 years since the Gallipoli landing and 75 years since our involvement in the Korean War. These events were thoughtfully acknowledged by Tom and Stephanie.
Jamie shared a powerful reading of The Sparkling Dardanelles, written by John Hartshorn. The service offered a space for reflection on the sacrifice of the many young Australians who helped shape the nation we live in today.
A heartfelt thank you to Joy McKenzie, Ged Oldfield, Moya Wills, and Noah Marsh for your contributions on pipes and drums – your presence added a truly special element to the ceremony.
We closed in silence following the Ode of Remembrance, the Last Post, and the National Anthem, united in honouring the past and recognising the freedoms we carry forward.
Our Westport Campus will host their ANZAC Ceremony in Week 1 of Term 2. We look forward to seeing our students and community at the Port Macquarie ANZAC Day service.
Lest we forget.
