SBAT Success - Congratulations Nate, Rhys and Jack!

Jack in front of workplace

A huge congratulations to Nate Burt, Rhys Mainey, and Jack Sonter on securing an SbAT (School-Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship) in their chosen fields. These students are well on their way to a successful career, thanks to the support of local businesses and the hard work of our dedicated students!

Nate Burt has begun an Apprenticeship in Certificate III in Automotive Light Vehicle with The Rego Shop, where he is gaining valuable experience in the automotive industry.

Rhys Mainey has started a Traineeship in Certificate II in Tyre Servicing with Tyre Power in Port Macquarie, where he’s learning about tyre maintenance and customer service.

Jack Sonter is pursuing Certificate III in Body Repair Technology with All Port Smash Repairs, developing his skills in vehicle body repair.

These students work one day per week as part of their SBAT, balancing hands-on training with their academic studies. Over the course of Years 11 and 12, they will complete a total of 130 days in their respective workplaces. This commitment not only prepares them for future employment but also allows them to build practical skills, gain real-world experience and still complete their HSC.

These opportunities would not be possible without the incredible support from local businesses like The Rego Shop, Tyre Power, and All Port Smash Repairs. Their dedication to fostering the next generation of skilled tradespeople is commendable. By providing these placements, they are helping shape the future of our community and ensuring students like Nate, Rhys and Jack receive the training and experience they need to succeed.

We extend our sincere gratitude to these businesses for their investment in our students' futures, their support is making a real difference. We look forward to seeing these young men thrive in their chosen trades.
