At Hastings Secondary College, we are proud to deliver learning environments that complement and enhance student success. The completion of significant infrastructure upgrades across both the Port Macquarie and Westport Campuses marks a new chapter in our college’s journey. These enhancements have been carefully designed to support our students’ learning and wellbeing, ensuring our campuses provide modern, inclusive, and dynamic spaces for all.

All major construction is now complete across Hastings Secondary College. This milestone marks the end of a four-and-a-half-year journey to deliver state-of-the-art learning spaces for our students and staff.

Creative & Performing Arts (CAPA)

The newly constructed two-storey Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA) building at the Port Macquarie Campus is a centrepiece of creativity and collaboration. Purpose-built to foster student expression, it includes dedicated music, drama, and movement spaces, visual arts studios, a photography darkroom, collaborative performing arts areas, and lift access to ensure full inclusivity. These facilities support a wide range of artistic disciplines, encouraging students to explore their creativity with confidence and purpose.

    Multi-Sport Facility (PCYC Partnership)

The completion of the shared sports facility marks a significant milestone for our school and the Port Macquarie community. Through a partnership between Police Citizens Youth Club (PCYC) and the NSW Government, we are able to offer our community new sports courts, gymnastics and gym facilities, multipurpose rooms, and a youth hub. We're very excited about the opening of these new facilities because they will create a tighter link between the wider community and Hastings Secondary College. College students will have exclusive use during school hours. This will greatly benefit the school’s Sport Academy, Personal Development, Health and Physical Education, and elective programs, while also offering numerous sporting activity opportunities for both Port Macquarie and Westport Campus students. The PCYC will operate the facilities outside of school hours, or as otherwise agreed with the school, and host the wider community. We thank you for your patience during construction and look forward to sharing these amazing new spaces with the community.

The final phase included the redevelopment of B and L Blocks at Port Macquarie Campus, now home to modern classrooms designed to support 21st-century learning. These flexible spaces feature the latest educational technology, interactive displays, digital tools, and adaptable furniture to accommodate a range of teaching styles and student needs. Communal breakout areas within the blocks provide spaces for collaboration, group work, and independent study—supporting both academic progress and social development. The newly refurbished classrooms promote focused instruction, flexible group learning, and dynamic engagement. These enhancements ensure all students benefit from inclusive, future-focused education in spaces designed to support a wide range of learning approaches.

The North South Link, a two-storey covered walkway, connects Buildings A and L, making the campus more accessible and efficient. This upgrade improves safety and provides weather-protected, inclusive access between key learning areas.

The Port Macquarie Campus also features a newly designed school entry and refreshed outdoor landscaping, creating a welcoming and professional first impression for all who visit. These improvements contribute to a positive school culture and foster a strong sense of pride and belonging.

This transformation would not have been possible without the incredible support of our students, staff, families, and the wider community. Your patience and belief in our vision have helped shape Hastings Secondary College into a place where students are inspired to learn, grow, and succeed in an environment that reflects the values of innovation, inclusivity, and excellence.
