This week, we took time to catch up with Year 12 student, Lauren Platt.
College: Hi Lauren, it's great to have you with us today, tell us about what you like doing in your free time?
Lauren: Hi, it's great to be here. Well, in my free time, I love going to Lighthouse Beach. It's such a beautiful place to relax and spend some quality time. I also enjoy engaging on social media, especially Instagram. It's a great way to keep up with my friends and see what they're up to.
College: What else do you enjoy doing?
Lauren: I also love taking care of my skin and trying out new skincare routines. And, of course, I love online shopping!
College: What’s your favourite subject at school?
Lauren: My favourite subject is Legal Studies. I find it interesting, and I'm fascinated by the way the law works. I've always wanted to work in Corrective Services to help people and make a difference.
College: That's admirable. Did you have a particular career plan in mind?
Lauren: Yes, I do. Initially, I wanted to study a double degree in Psychology and Law, but I realised that it would take too long, and the job prospects weren't guaranteed. So, I'm now looking at studying either Social Science or Criminology when I finish school.
College: Do you have any other interests or hobbies?
Lauren: I'm interested in reading case studies from the Children's Court and Supreme Court. It's fascinating to see how the law works in different situations.
College: Is there anything else you enjoy at our school?
Lauren: I love playing sports and I especially adore my friend group. We've been friends since Year 5 at Telegraph Point Public School and we've stayed close ever since. It's great to have a supportive group of friends to rely on and have fun with.
