The annual cross country event at Wayne Richards Park proved to be a resounding success for our college. Westport Campus and Port Macquarie Campus came together for an exhilarating race and friendly competition. The highlight of the event was the participation of Kristen Miller, the Principal of Port Macquarie Campus, who joined the students in the race, showcasing her enthusiasm and support for the school community.
Wayne Richards Park provided the perfect backdrop for the cross country event, offering a scenic and challenging course for the runners. The event served as a valuable opportunity for the students to prepare themselves for the upcoming Zone Cross Country in Kempsey.
Throughout the event, students showcased their determination, perseverance, and athletic abilities, pushing themselves to the limit to achieve their personal bests. At the end of the race, the age champions were announced, recognizing those students who displayed exceptional skill, speed, and endurance. Additionally, several students achieved the qualifying standards required to compete in the upcoming Zone Cross Country event in Kempsey, which stands as a testament to their dedication and hard work in training.
The success of the cross country event was not only measured in terms of individual achievements but also in the collective spirit and unity it fostered among the students. The event showcased the positive impact that sports can have on students' physical and mental well-being, encouraging them to stay active, embrace healthy habits, and develop lifelong skills.
