Our college day is structured around a clear timetable. We have set times for learning sessions, activities and lunch. Understanding the bell times helps students get the most out of each part of the day.
It's important for students to arrive on time each day. If your child is running late, please contact the front office.
Attendance matters at Hastings Secondary College
If your child is absent from school, it is very important to provide the college with an explanation as soon as possible.
Parents and carers can report their child's absence through:
Sentral Parent Portal
Within 14 days of an absence, you can notify the school of your child's explained absence via the Parent Portal.
SMS reply
Simply reply to the SMS message you have received.
Send an email to the school to notify your child is absent.

Handwritten note

Class timetable
In 2025, the school day will start at 8:15 am and finish at 2:25 pm. Variations apply on Tuesdays and sports days, which differ between campuses. There are two timetables below, one for Port Macquarie Campus and one for Westport Campus. Please ensure you view the correct timetable for your child.
Cross campus classes: Cross campus for senior classes occur five mornings per week and three afternoons. Senior tutorials are an additional hour.

Every day matters for your child’s learning. You must contact the school if your child is absent, late or have to leave early.
