STEM

The workforce of the future requires high levels of skill, responsible thinkers and creative thinkers.

STEM education:

  • is an integrated approach to teaching Science and Technology, Engineering and Mathematics
  • fosters inquiry learning in our complex world
  • helps teachers guide students to apply their knowledge and understandings, inquire into their world, and solve complex, authentic problems involving contextually rich projects.

Through quality STEM programs, students from pre-school to Year 12 engage with their curriculum, acquiring skills that lay strong foundations for their career aspirations.

Through STEM, students engage creatively in real world problems, applying their understanding of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics in integrated and innovative ways.

Hastings Secondary College has established a STEM Academy, Maker Space and STEM Hub at each campus which provides students with opportunities to develop the STEM skills they need to compete and adapt in a job market that is constantly evolving.
